Legends of Common Ground at the Bowery Theatre

In 2023, MAV presents the Legends of Common Ground: a showcase of Common Ground poets past. Local poetry enthusiasts are invited to participate via an open mic slot.
Common Ground was established in 2013 to create a space for young people from two faiths that are often religiously and racially vilified (Sikhism and Islam), to come together and use spoken word and poetry as a medium for dialogue, friendship and interaction.
It has since evolved to be a dedicated platform for diaspora community and local creatives to come together through a series of workshops and theatre performances around Victoria and interstate.
This will be a unique experience of multilingual poetry and spoken word.
A short interval will be held.
