Once Upon A River – nature writing inspired by the Werribee River Catchment
October 28, 2022 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Once Upon a River is a nature-writing program, exploring Wyndham’s spectacular natural spaces and diverse ecosystems. Each session visits a new place and will begin with a short nature walk, guided by a WRA representative. An experienced writer, poet and/or musician will then help to get the creative juices flowing, with a facilitated writing session, drawing on inspiration from the surrounding plants, animals and waterways.
Our first session will take place at the Werribee River Park. Our walk will take us under a canopy of River Red Gums, along the river’s edge. We’ll discover some of the plants and animals that call this part of the world home. After arriving at our writing spot, writer Fatima Measham will provide prompts to get pens on paper.
No writing experience is necessary. Please bring paper and pens. Morning tea provided. Enter via gate 5 off K Road. More access information will be given prior to the event. Please register via Eventbrite for updates.
This program has been generously supported by Arts Assist.
