Wordcraft is all about honouring our stories raw and in process. Join us for a cosy night of spoken word poetry, full of truth and word magic.

Hosted by Australian Poetry Slam Champion, Ren Alessandra, this event is all about celebrating our voices. This month, our feature is our 1st Birthday Slam winner, Ela Fornalska!

Ela Fornalska is a poet and a language teacher. She has performed her work in festivals, on television, the radio, and on a tram. Ela has been published in various anthologies, audio compilations, literary magazines and journals. She was shortlisted in the teacher section of Red Room Poetry’s national competition ‘Poetry Object’, has been a finalist at the ‘Melbourne Spoken Word Prize’, a grand finalist in the ‘Sydney Road Writers Contest & Cup’, and won Wordcraft Spoken Word Slam. Ela has been an international guest at the festival ‘Österreich Liest’ (Austria Reads). Her work has been translated into multiple languages, and she occasionally writes and performs bilingually. The Dance Inside is her first full-length collection.
