Wordcraft is a space for celebrating our stories raw and in process. On the spoken word stage, all stories, all writing, all stages of your experience are waiting to be heard. Come join us for an intimate night of poetry magic, curated by Australian Poetry Slam Champion, Ren Alessandra.

This month, our snack daddy, and 4x Australian Poetry Slam Finalist and 2x Runner Up, Andi Stewart will be our host!

This month, we are featuring: Matcha Makato

Matcho is a multi-disciplinary artist whose works are grounded in the stigma and spectrum of identity and uplifting the art of people of colour.

He has featured at countless spoken word events across continents including Thin Red Lines, National Young Writer’s Festival, and Whitewalls Poetry in Manila; written and performed in countless theatre productions and creative projects across disciplines.

In Naarm, he hosts Soul Lounge, a monthly event exposing talent of people of colour. Taking over Soul Lounge Adelaide in 2017, and coming to Melbourne in 2022, he made it his mission to expand across Australia.

Wordcraft acknowledges we are on stolen land and thank the Wurundjeri people for all the stories we have heard and all we are yet to learn.
